Dugout Confessions

Hi friend! We're the Johnson's. For the past 15 years we've lived life on a diamond.

From college ball to pro ball. To opening an academy and working with teams in travel ball. To getting involved in our local rec park - coaching our kids and leading the league as commissioner. To finding ourselves back in college as a D2 pitching coach. We've seen it all. We've done it all. And now we're talking about it!

Our hope is to create a community that can relate to the different situations that are shared from others who follow. Maybe it helps you see your situation isn't as bad as it could be or find comfort in knowing others are struggling in the same areas you are.

We started the social media platforms with our story and our confessions.

& now we're sharing yours, too!

Kevin Johnson

Kevin is a husband, father and coach. In that order.

He grew up playing ball on the local rec fields. Was afforded the opportunity to play beyond high school at the JUCO and D2 level. And in 2010 he was drafted to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 20th round.

He played in their system for 6 seasons. Reached AAA, played in multiple big league spring training games and was a non-roster invitee to big league spring training in 2012.

He traded in the cleats for turfs in 2015 and has been coaching ever since.

As the former owner/operator of an indoor facility and creator / manager of the travel ball program that ran out of it he has had his fair share of travel ball excitement.

Currently he is the pitching coach at an NCAA D2 program located in Pensacola, FL where he has led the pitching staff to two consecutive winning seasons.

My husband's passion is baseball. Playing it. Coaching it. Living it.

& both of our passions come together through writing about our life on the diamond.

In my 14 years of being the wife of a player and the wife of a coach – I’ve seen and heard a lot!
